Profile
Jean-Martin is Senior Vice-President at Optimum Holdings. He studied Music, Economics, Finance, and Actuarial Science at various institutions in Canada, England, and Spain, before embarking on an international career, mostly in North America and Europe.
He spent many years with Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) where he served as Vice-President and Executive Director in London, UK, and Montreal. Jean-Martin also headed the Chantier de l’économie sociale, a major civil society economic development body in Canada. Prior to that, he acquired a diversified experience as Portfolio Manager, Director of Quantitative Research, and Risk Manager with various firms including PSP Investments, Addenda Capital, and Céos Family Office. His career also includes acting as a Consultant in Quantitative Finance for many major corporations in Canada.
In parallel, Jean-Martin cofounded the largest international association of Risk Managers, PRMIA. Very much attached to the collective, he served as a member of Parliament in Quebec and remains very active in his community by sitting on various non-profit Boards related to economic development, education, and culture.
He can be seen weekly on national Canadian television to comment on the economy. Jean-Martin has twin kids, still of school age.
